October 6, 2007 | In Personal | No CommentsIt had been five days since I had my last decent cup of coffee before we left. For the last few days it has been one awful excuse for java after another. We heard there was a Starbucks in Target here in Dothan, Alabama – the only place you can actually get “real” coffee.
After visiting my grandpa Bob in the Hospital for the last time tonight, we decided to venture off the circle and find the Starbucks. Some 20 minutes later I finished off my large cup of joe and it tasted good.
I should be heading back to Marshall sometime Monday afternoon, I’ll be heading to Atalanta tomorrow for an early Monday morning flight.
Looking to get new cellphone
October 6, 2007 | In Random | No CommentsI may be looking for a new cellphone in the coming weeks with my current provider doing some rather sketchy things that could let me out of the contract. I don’t know yet who I will be going with but I have a few requirements:
- Must work in my apartment in Marshall.
- Must be able to receive e-mail from my Gmail account.
- Must have calender application (preferred Palm system).
- Smart phone, if the plan is decent.
Yeah, I would love the iPhone, but in reality AT&T isn’t available in my area so for now that isn’t an option. Verizon, Alltel and possibly Unicel (don’t want them though) are all options. I don’t want to go with a partner, I want to go directly from the carrier. If you have any ideas please pass them along. Sprint has a new phone coming out that I’m interested in, but I don’t know how well their service has improved over the last year since I last used them.
Taking a break
October 5, 2007 | In Random | No CommentsIts been a long few days so I’m taking some time to catch up on some of the things I’ve missed over the last few days at home. Apparently a meteor may have crashed into southwestern Minnesota. My good friend and former co-worker Greg Devereaux heard a sonic boom and was quoted in both the Independent and Pioneer Press about the event.
I haven’t heard much since reading a blurb on the Independent Web site, I hope to learn more in a few days when I return home. I missed out on the event by a few days, but it sounds like there was “fire in the sky” with some people possibly calling it a “UFO” or some such thing.
This weekend marks Home Coming for my alma mater. I was hoping to enjoy it this year but unfortunitly events have kept that from happening. The Mustangs will take on Concordia St. Paul on Saturday so I’ll be rooting for them in my own way. Have fun everybody!

October 1, 2007 | In Random | No CommentsI’m heading to Georgia tomorrow morning, flying out early. I’ll have my MacBook with me and will spend some time online, probably blogging my experience. Please feel free to drop me a note, I should be around.
