September 29, 2007 | In Personal | No CommentsI have a few hours before I need to head back into work today (a Saturday) so I decided I would take the opportunity to take a little snooze on my couch. Having finished off everything on my TiVo and delving completely through the bonus disc in the “Knocked Up” DVD it seemed like a sound idea.
My couch isn’t particularly new. It’s well worn in. My parents got this couch sometime around 1991 or so and it’s been through the ringer as it were. There was a period when I was sleeping on the couch (long story) so me and this couch have a pretty lengthy history.
Today as I laid down I found it difficult to find the right position, the one that would let me slip into 30 minutes of blissful relaxation. Instead I shuffle around, arching my back, moving my leg, hugging a pillow, all without victory over the couch.
The problem comes in with the center cushion. It’s the seat that gets utilized the most. It positions me directly in front of the television, making for the home theater experience that I so enjoy. This veteran cushion has become misshapen, small and uncomfortable to lay on.
Ultimately I would love to get a new couch, that is really what I’d most like at the moment. Those things cost money though, so instead of getting my 30 minute nap I am instead writing a blog post, and ode to my sofa. Someday you will get to retire, just not yet. And when you do, I’ll nap again!
The Office Fun Run
September 27, 2007 | In Movies & TV | No CommentsThe wonderful show “The Office” returned tonight with the first episode of the fourth season. The show answered all the questions left open at the end of last season. I don’t want to spoil those answers for those who haven’t watched it, so instead I thought I’d throw you a bone and let you check out the list of Jim’s pranks from the show. Check it out.
Warning, portions of the page I’m sending you to contain spoilers from aired episodes.
Playing with the site
September 27, 2007 | In Random | No CommentsI am doing some customization of the blog at the moment. I'm playing with some new plug-ins including this random "quick post" plugin that lets me post things a lot faster than before. I like the idea.
If you have some ideas for good WordPress plugins, please feel free to let me know what you're using. I'm having fun with this stuff.

September 26, 2007 | In Video Games | No CommentsConfession: I’m addicted to Halo. If it wasn’t for this first person shooter, I would have little interest in the Xbox, as I am a Nintendo fan from way back in the day (which by the way was a Tuesday back in 1986). However the Halo series is too good to pass up.
Halo 3, the final game in the story trilogy was released earlier this week and I didn’t buy it. The problem is, I don’t have an Xbox 360. I do have an original Xbox with the first two games, but that doesn’t help me playing the third game.
Lucky for me I have a friend with a 360 and he was nice enough to let me give the game a spin. I was able to quickly make my way through the first level yesterday and follow that up with some death match gaming. After about 2 hours with the game I can honestly say it’s a fantastic addition to the series and increases my interest in the second Xbox.
It’s still going to be a while before my next Xbox goes into my system, so my time with the new Halo will mostly be spent over at friends places. If you want to buy me a 360, I wouldn’t (probably wouldn’t) say no.
Some day, some day.

Happy Birthday Smile
September 24, 2007 | In Random | No CommentsI’m a little late on this one, but on Sept. 19, “:-)” celebrated it’s 25th anniversary. It’s such a simple thing, something that just seems to be so obvious and part of our lives. It had to be born somewhere, and 25 years ago it was. I heard about this through TWiT but followed up with information on Wikipedia. Find out more for yourself.
